Givenchy Haute Couture – Une Lettre D’Amour

For the Fall-Winter 2020 Givenchy Haute Couture Collection, Clare Waight Keller invites a romantic glimpse into the gardens of Sissinghurst Castle by Vita Sackville-West, while taking a nod towards the floral elegance found in archives of the great Hubert de Givenchy.

Drawing inspiration from the love letters of Sackville-West and Virginia Woolf, ‘Un Lettre D’Amour’ to English romance unfolds at the Réfectoire des Cordeliers in Paris – where sculpture and volume inform fantastical florals, vibrance illuminates plisses, peplums, and structured shoulders. The show blooms delicately and gracefully, paying homage to the beauty that’s seen its day, and all that the future has yet to uncover.
