PUSS PUSS Purrs – Wired Up, Tuned In

Words:
Beanie Stolper

I’ve gone full circle and returned to wired headphones. Are they a nightmare to untangle? Yes. Do I miss charging my AirPods every few hours? Absolutely not. Somewhere between this switch-up and my current Apple addiction, I started noticing a tech moment brewing in fashion, an influx of amazing collaborations and stand alone products launching left-right-and-centre. It also made me realise just how deep I am in the Apple ecosystem. Conditioned, yet comfortable and famously being comfortable is never good, it keeps you stagnant. So here are some other things I love and definitely want to try! Madhappy dropped a feel good collab with Beats, and Wales Bonner delivered dreamy one-offs with Bose for tennis legends Coco Gauff and Ben Shelton. Whether you’re beachside with Elvis on repeat (currently stuck on ‘Burning Love’) or trying to get through this week’s tube strike with a grounding podcast in your ears, here’s what we’re loving at PUSS PUSS HQ on the tech front.

Trust Madhappy to make even a speaker feel like the season’s cutest accessory. The collab dropped with a takeover at their Pantry space in West Hollywood with a vintage claw machine stacked with custom Beats Pill speakers in blush pink + navy. It’s the kind of playful, spotty-meets-sleek energy that Madhappy has mastered with their partnerships: functional, fun, and totally covetable. Because really… who else could make a portable speaker feel like summer’s must-have? Plus giving us the constant matcha fix with their limited Berry Sweet Cloud Matcha!
London’s latest style signifier isn’t a bag or a sneaker, it’s a pair of headphones. Nothing’s first over the ear launch is already hanging off the shoulders of the coolest of the cool, spotted from one end of London to the other and a brand that is on everyone’s lips. Transparent detailing, aluminium hardware, memory foam cushioning, the kind of design language you want people to see and to appreciate. Engineered with KEF, they sound as good as they look: deep bass, crisp treble, and a precision that makes even your ‘every once in a while’ 5 minute voice notes feel cinematic, bringing them up to professional podcast level which, to be honest, we all imagine. With 35 hours of battery and tactile controls, they’re built for the city, no clumsy swiping, no wires tangling in your tote (which yes I do complain about above!) Potentially it is a goodbye to my wired headphones, the upgrade has officially arrived!
The collab that broke the internet is back, Ashley Williams’ ‘I Heart Me’ case with Wildflower just dropped in a new blue, and yes, it’s already on every cool girl’s mirror selfie. It’s bold, unapologetic, and basically a reminder to romanticise yourself every time you pick up your phone. I am now a Wildflower Cases convert, having gone from always having the same iPhone case for as long as it takes for my phone to give up on me (and usually at the most annoying/stressful/busy time may I add) to having swapped my case from one Wildflower Case to the other in a space of a month, which is quick time for me. Limited edition, jeweled with Wildflower’s silver emblem, and wrapped in that protective bumper. Consider it a tiny accessory with big vibes, part statement piece, part daily mantra.
When fashion meets sound: Bose tapped Grace Wales Bonner to reimagine their ‘Quiet Comfort Ultra’ headphones, creating custom all-white designs for Coco Gauff and Ben Shelton. Inspired by Wimbledon’s iconic tradition, Grace elevated the classic silhouette with ivory tones, leather detailing, and subtle studding, a mix of sport, style, and her signature storytelling. A big fan, of course of her runway collections, of course her Adidas collaborations and now pining after these over the ear must haves which we sadly can’t have but I wanted to highlight! For Grace, music has always been part of the process, and here it becomes literal: high-quality audio as her canvas, reworked into something quietly luxe.
Chopova Lowena x SONY The Sony x Chopova Lowena ‘Alto’ Bag is designed by Emma Chopova and Laura Lowena to house Sony’s WH-1000XM6 noise cancelling headphones, merging Chopova signature aesthetic, crafted from thoughtful materials and inspired by vintage travel interiors. Now headphone cases are even more important than the tech itself. For a while headphones got smaller and smaller and now the over ears are taking over, abiding by the rules of supply and demand there is now a demand for cooler carry cases. It’s more than a bag, it’s a mood, carrying your music, your memories, and a little bit of your world wherever you go. You can now enter even further into the Chopova world! This collaboration proves that sound and style aren’t just connected, they’re inseparable. Chopova perfume, now a headphone bag, we can’t wait to see what is next in the world of Chopova!
