Anthony Vaccarello launches Self 1, a collaboration with iconic Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama and the first in a series of collaborations with artists, photographers and filmmakers ‘to capture different aspects of the Saint Laurent personality, underlining the complexity of various individuals through the eyes of artists’. Self 1 will be presented in Paris at Palais Royal from the 9th till the 11th of November during Paris Photo and features stunning black & white images of the Saint Laurent FW18 collection taken by Moriyama in Japan. Famous for his raw pictures of post-war Japan, especially the underground scene, this series matches his unflinching look and Anthony Vaccarello’s vision for the brand of ‘freedom of self-expression without censorship’.
