Sunshine, I Love You

Self-taught Evgeniya Gor picked up a camera for the first time in 2006 and has since been photographing everything that surrounds her in her native city of Astana, Kazakhstan. Working mainly in black & white, cats are ever present in her work, “I have always been interested in the relationship between humans and animals”. While photographing cats, Evgeniya also captures the environment they share with people, painting a fascinating picture of a post-Soviet country caught between the past and the future.
