In today’s world where we are constantly bombarded with images, Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli has taken a fresh approach in the house’s SS21 campaign, eschewing photography and instead inviting renowned writers to lend their voices to create seven individual and impactful, text-only campaigns, featuring original work from Donna Tartt, Elif Shafak, Janet Mock, Lisa Taddeo, Matthew López, Ocean Vuong and Yrsa Daley-Ward.
“I love this idea of all people: a combination of identities. It’s about roots and identities, and I love the embrace of different cultures. It’s about humans. It’s about you and your diversity: your expression.” Pierpaolo Piccioli.
This story is the latest in Valentino’s collaboration with the literary world, as they have supported a range of poets and writers consistently over the last 3 years.
